Shropshire Council ‘U’Turn

Shropshire Council is about to scrap its recycling centres booking system for cars.

The decision was announced at this morning's Shropshire Council cabinet meeting.

Residents using cars to visit one of the five centres - at Shrewsbury Craven Arms, Bridgnorth, Oswestry, and Whitchurch, will no longer need to book.

Vans and vehicles with trailers will still have to book, and all visitors to the centres will still be asked to provide proof of residency in Shropshire.

It comes after the council introduced the booking system last November.

Veolia, the operator of the sites have been informed of the changes, and it is hoped they will come into force by Monday, February 17.
